Roderic M. Hartung Residence
|
The dwelling was originally designed as a weekend home when Rod Hartung , an architect lived & worked in New York City. Situated on 16 private acres, Hartung saw the preservation of the natural elements as his fundamental orientation for the design of this rural retreat. Recent renovations included a barn like structure for autos, a workshop and a second story loft connected to the existing composition by an open porte co-chere. In the interior, a focal point of the living room & kitchen would be the verte valsaguna marble selected for the fireplace surround and kitchen counters. These varying shades of green contained in the marble and reflected by the exterior foliage visible through the extensive use of glass would be the theme for the colors selected for the kitchen cabinets, frieze boards and painted paneling. |
